Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act insurance exchanges is here! This means that...
- All insurance plans will have to cover doctor visits, maternity care, emergency care, prescriptions, birth control and breastfeeding support services.
- You might be able to get financial help to pay for a health insurance plan.
- If you have a pre-existing condition, insurance plans cannot deny you coverage.
- All insurance plans will have to show the costs and what is covered in simple language and with no fine print.
Despite the obvious health and economic benefits of Obamacare, there are still politicians and bosses standing in the way. Politicians in Congress have repeatedly tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act and its historic benefits for millions of women. In addition, more than a dozen lawsuits brought by bosses of private companies who think they should be allowed to stand between a woman and her birth control are still making their way through the courts.
Meanwhile, opponents of women’s health are actively gathering signatures to place a measure on the 2014 ballot that would strip funding for abortion services from the lowest-income women in our state. We must stand strong against these continued attacks.
This is our opportunity to protect Oregonians by opposing limits on women’s health care, including birth control and safe, legal abortion. Please click here to sign the pledge!
Planned Parenthood is also here to help you get the information you need to get enrolled in new, more affordable health plans. For nearly 100 years, our health centers have provided quality, affordable care - and that's not changing. Click here for key things you should consider as a woman when choosing a health plan.
