Come Celebrate with Us! Victory Parties on Aug. 1 in Portland and Eugene!

July 23, 2012

WomensHealthMattersThis has already been an incredible summer for women's health. Come celebrate with us Aug. 1!

On June 28, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, the greatest advance in women's health in a generation. As a result, effective Aug. 1, birth control will be treated like any other preventive prescription, and will be available WITHOUT co-pays! Women spend up to $600 a year on birth control, and this decision means it will now be fully covered. The money women will save on birth control each year is equal to five weeks of groceries for a family of four, nine tanks of gas in a minivan, or one semester of college textbooks.

But that's not all: On July 4, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon learned that 2 dangerous anti-choice constitutional amendments FAILED to qualify for the November ballot. This means that we can now focus on a proactive agenda to secure a pro-women's health majority in the Legislature, instead of defending ourselves from another set of attacks.

Please join us for happy hour Aug. 1 on the patios at Mississippi Studios in Portland and Sam Bonds Garage in Eugene as we toast our progress and look ahead to a winning election! Together, we are making it clear that women's health matters!
